Cobden's Parks & Gardens

Tandarook Botanical Park

One of the best picnic spots in the district is the Tandarook Botanical Park featuring full picnic facilities, these include barbecue, Gazebo & walking tracks. A feature of this park is the magnificent rose gardens.

Rotary Park

Another prime picnic spot is in the centre of town. Rotary Park which surrounds the tranquil Cobden Lake, this offers visitors a pleasant place to stay while enjoying the many facilities on offer. While taking a leisurely walk around the lake you may wish to feed the friendly ducks which live on the lake.

Forests

Almost all roads out of Cobden lead to great places, but while driving to them, enjoy the delightful landscapes, sea views, and the many stands of beautiful Australian bush, especially that of the Jancourt Forest. Also take time to go horse riding with informative guides, or take a walk along one of the many nature trails such as the former Cobden to Timboon railway corridor.
.
Walks
A walking track through the Cobden bush follows the path of the Old Railway from Timboon to the Curdies. Along the way you can see some of the old lime kilns which were once plentiful in the area. The five kilometre walk finishes at the Old Railway Trestle Bridge, the last of its kind in Victoria. On the trestle bridge walk there are up to 150 species of birds to be identified including blue wrens and the white Goshawk. There are also koalas, Kangaroos and plenty of Possums.
